Procedures & Protocol

Gear Up & Get Directions

Use our checklist and maps for the perfect trip out to the range. Bring tailgating gear, range equipment, targets & target stands. Target stands available at Green's Mercantile in Buffalo Creek 4 miles North of range.

Read Signage & Put on PPE

Everyone must have eye and ear personal protection equipment (PPE) BEFORE you enter the range. Baseball cap is highly recommended. Read the range RULES, SAFETY, and CALLS.

Wait for CEASE FIRE to enter

Pull forward to last tree on right where everyone can see your vehicle. Other shooters or a volunteer RSO will wave you on to the range after a CEASE FIRE is established. Proceed forward and park facing North.

Unpack & Get Ready

Unload all tailgating equipment, shooting supplies, and target stands directly behind your vehicle. Place all firearms in SAFE MODE on your table, assemble targets, and load magazines.

Set Up Your Targets

Call out for a CEASE FIRE & COLD RANGE. After all weapons on the firing line are in SAFE MODE, proceed down range as a group and place your target stands at a safe distance directly behind your vehicle.

Be Safe & Have Fun

Everyone is a Range Safety Officer (RSO). If you see an unsafe condition, then shout as loud as possible “CEASE FIRE” at least three times and point in the area of concern. Communicate all range SAFETY CALL to your neighbors. Range safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Clean Up

Pack out EVERYTHING you brought into this area. Please take out an extra bag or two of trash if you can. Keep it clean. Keep it open.
